I have worked with students and professionals from around the world for more than 15 years.
From teaching English conversation in South Korea, to recruiting and advising international students about studying in the US, to orienting immigrants to American life, my expertise in international education spans a wide range of settings and professional roles.
I have six years experience teaching ESL and intercultural communication in both online and traditional classroom settings. I also have extensive experience managing academic, cultural, and social programs for international students and scholars at such well-known institutions as UC-Berkeley, the University of Washington, the Monterey Institute of International Studies, and San Jose State University.
I lived and worked in South Korea for two years, spent one year as an exchange student in Australia, and have traveled extensively in Europe and Asia.
Drawing from my professional and personal experience, I intuitively understand the needs of non-native English speakers and enjoy supporting students in developing a clearer understanding of the English language, life the US, and the many nuances of cross-cultural communication.
I earned a Master’s degree in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University, a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Michigan, and am currently completing a Certificate in TESOL at Seattle University.
