Have you seen real Koreans? or you saw them in TV? Korean people in TV are talented people who were survived in extreme competition in entertainment business. I think that normal people are not much different from other side of the world.

Anyway, there is some cultural trend in fashion style in current Korea. I found that they prefer formal, simple, clean and natural dress and hairstyle. People don't like thick makeup, and they care much about soft and clean skin. Traditionally people considered skin like 백옥(white jade) was very attractive. Thick black eye lines are considered creepy while western (including indian) style prefer them.

People usually avoid complicated decorations in dress. I can see this trend from traditional dress which was really clean and simple, and mainly emphasized on beauty on lines, not texture.
