One key thing to know about the rhythm of English is that words are stressed for emphasis and to change the meaning of a sentence.
For example, "Did she STEAL (emphasis) the book?" would imply "Did she steal the book or did she do something else to it?"
while "Did she steal the BOOK?" would mean "Did she steal the book or did she steal something else?"
The best way to learn this kind of thing is to have people go through sentences with you and explain how the stress changes the meaning of each sentence, and then practice it on your own.
