Diversity in landscapes, big cities, history, culture, the way Mandarin sounds and the food I guess. I guess that's the most important. :P

People, first. I am so interested in learning about people in general. More than half of my friends are either Chinese or Taiwanese so I have alot of interest in Chinese Culture but I like people from all countries. Japan, Korea, Ireland, Scotland, Sudan, Kuwait, Israel, and the list goes on. Been involved with Martial Arts (Wu Shu) since I was 14 so I am quite interested in that too.

People, yes. Old palaces and skyscrapers are not the real life. The long wall is impressive. The forgotten parts of 雁门关 without bricks as well as the many tourists at 八达岭 (to me the tourists are the main attraction). Beautiful landscapes of mountains and lakes, north and south, but also the vast industrial areas and rural housing. But the most interesting attraction is the daily life of ordinary people.
