"熱い"&"暑い"...Which one to use under which scenario? Is it a difference between warm and hot?

"暑い" is used for talk about temperature.
and "熱い" is used for talk about anything else.
For example :
1. Summer is hot. (暑い)
2. Today's temperature reads 40 degrees Celsius. very hot ! (暑い)
3. A coffee is hot. (熱い)
4. your heart is hot ! (熱い)

i don't know the meaning of the first scentenc,but i know the second
the warm day make person comfortable,but usually the hot day make person afflictive.
