かわいくないです・・・・

1) Is it correct to say that "かわいくないです" is "technically" not the correct form to use (for i-adjective negative form) but is more commonly heard in polite conversations?
2) Is the correct form supposed to be "かわいくありません"?

1) かわいくないis technically correct, because it is かわいい・可愛いin the basic form.
2) It's a matter of situation. Normal, not so formal speaking is かわいくないです.
かわいくありません is more formal and polite.
