I agree with the above comments, emails about marriage, love, wanting my personal details etc leads me to reject requests to be friends.

Yes, I have rejected many invitations because I had two bad experiences by the chat with people didn't want to learn an idiom really. It seems they were here with other intentions. Now I prefer to know people reading their questions and answers before accept them like a friend.

I have rejected invitations and been rejected several times. I don't reject many invitations, but when I do it's usually for two reasons: 1) I share no common language with person making the invitation; 2) the inviation strikes me as bogus -- I have received many invitations trying to PHISH.

I have been rejected a few times. It did not make me sad or angry. I usually assume they already have many friends and don't want any more or their goals are different from mine. I just shrug my shoulders and look for another person who may want to be my friend.

I try not to reject invitations, but just ignore them. I think many of the people I've invited to by my friend do the same thing. The reason I don't confirm/reject friend requests is because the system for confirming friends is too slooooow. I now have 630 friend requests; therefore, to confirm or deny all of those people would be at a minimum 1240 clicks.

When people ignore or reject me, I'm curious why. Do they have the same problem I do, the system is too slow, do they have too many friends, have they not logged on, what else? Sometimes, I'm annoyed, particularly if I need that person's help with something.

Nope. Everyone has their own reasons, so I wouldn't take it to heart. If anyone gets rejected just add me haha i promise not to reject anyone (especially if they send me cash or a check)! :) There are so many other members on italki... just find and click another one basically! These people don't really know just by looking at your profile or pic, so don't take it personally. Remember to always smile! :D

I have been rejected a few times and I have rejected many invitations. I see that people often ask you to teach them your language but it’s difficult to help if they are newbie and you don’t speak their mothertongue. Also I receive several requests from people telling me that they are “deeply interested in my soul” …………I don’t feel sad if people refuse my request, every one of us has its own reason

Lol nice question:

I have been rejected before and it does feel kinda bad, but I know everyone has their own reasons and they may be really superficial so I don't take it too seriously. Otherwise, maybe they have a lot of friends and it's just hard to keep up with everyone on there, especially if the language they speak isn't the primary one you're trying to learn, that's the reason I've rejected people in the past heh.
