how does your country report on the olympics?

here in the usa, our olympic coverage focuses almost completely on the usa athletes. most events that don't have the possibily of a usa medal have very little television coverage, even though that event might be very competitive for other countries.

how does your country cover the olympics? do you feel their coverage is fair to all countries?

maybe it is unfair for other countries, but the media must take the audience ratings into consideration.if the events are low in the ratings, the media won't cover them.do u pay close attention to table tennis?if not,ur media will uncover it.
even though this olympics is held in our country, the tvs show mainly the chinese golden sports, such as table tennis/diving/badminton.nevertheless,we can also watch those competitions which superstars participate in,for example the cctv can cover Phelps' events/Isinbayeva's events/bolt's events.they are also famous in china.
as to comments, the cctv reportser are objective and suitable.take liuxiang as an example,he pulled out of the 110metres hurdles, and all of chinese people felt very sad and inscrutable.but the cctv explained why again and again for liuxiang, and advised the liu fans to understand him.
so i think our media are ok.

I don't think the coverage is fair in any country, because it's mainly on their country like you said. The media reporters here in Australia are actually quite insulting, but not to other countries, only to our own athletes. They say stuff about their performance in that event and they could've done better and other stuuf similiar to that. It's absolutely disgusting!!!!!!!! Our country covers the Olympics by t.v, radio, newspapers and internet. Just the usual stuff, but there's an Australian website, ninemsn.com.au that has the medal tally on the homepage and if you click on "aussie medals" it gives you the whole tally for other countries aswell, except those that don't have medals. so if you want to check that out you could

lots of contries are similer, we want to see our players.
but as you said, the usa could be the worse...haha...they only show players of the usa as if like they are the only players who play that games...i was actually amazed to see whan i was in the usa to watch it.
in japan, sometimes focus too much on the player if he/she is popular as if it is the our hope ...that`s look strange too...

German journalists also jsut look on the german athletes. So here in Europe when I want to see non-political sports I ever watch Eurosport. Its the best sport TV in my meaning because they are not focused on just one country.
