A question on an Olympic article: what is the meaning of "bar none"

This is an excerpt of an article on the new-born 100m sprint winner Jamaican man Usain Bolt from BBC.May someone tell me what is the meaning of "bar none" in the following excerpt?
"One of the main achievements of Bolt may have been to make us believe that the 100m is once again the greatest event of the Olympics bar none, the event everyone looks forward to. "

In this context, to 'bar' is to exclude. The phrase 'bar none' means 'without exclusion', so it is being used to emphasise the writer's opinion that the 100m is the greatest event and that there is no doubt about it.
