Hi Marek. Direct speech is word for word what the person said & is enclosed by quotation marks, eg She said, "I am going to join Italki". or " I am going to join Italki", she said. Indirect speech changes tense and doesn't have to be the exact quote. eg She said that she was going to join Italki. It does not have quotation marks.
