Do you ever wish you'd studied something else?

Some people study things their parents want them to, others go on to do further degrees. Are you happy with what you studied?

I wanted to study psychology before being in college, but I turned out to be a Chinese major^^
I wept a lot at first,my parents urged me to be a Chinese teacher in the future.
I have been a Chinese major for 3 years,.I read a lot on Psychology as a freshman, but I didn't make up my mind to change my major, because I gradually realized something more important.
Through learning east and weat literature ,I got my horizons broadened;the linguistics gave me an insight into various languages(although I skipped a lot of dull lectures^^),what I studied help me make a difference between knowledge and wisdom.I have shaped the habit of reading and writing, and I am crazy about learning languages and new things now^^I am feeling good everyday, and the happiness comes from within.
I am and will be happy with what I studied^^

cool question and yes.i wish i can study things that i'm more interested in.I dont think we have enough choices in school and to me, sometimes it feels like a waste of my youth.i'm already 17 this year and i can't stand for the rigidity of formal education.Still, i go to school faithfully each and everyday because i guess, i'm much luckier compared to other children who are denied from basic education. but i think there's definitely a problem here. i've had 10 years of schooling now..besides practising my native languages actively, making friends.. i really remember few things that ive learnt in school that have relevance to my real life. i don't hate school cos i love languages classes..for the rest, haaha...i need get my hands on adam sandler's magic remote control and click FAST FORWARD.

Well, at first I wanted to do something completely different (art college) but then I decided it would be foolish of me to do that, so I picked the same study my father did. (Economics) At first it was really boring but now that we can choose specific elements I feel it's becoming more interesting.

My parents allowed me to study pretty much whatever I wanted. Would I go back and replace any of those things? Probably not. Would I go back and do more with the time I had? Absolutely.
