"traded her busy city neighborhood for a more isolated life" means that she moved away (traded = swapped or exchanged) from the city, where everything is fast and crowded with people, to a place where is is quieter, with fewer people around.

1. showed "what?" (an object of the verb) so use "her"
2. hit-and-run - to leave a scene of an accident that u caused without making a police report or checking on safety or welfare of the victim
