I just thought of this :

Even non-living things show the truth .. So, It is better if everyone will tell the truth. No lies. There is only a very little exception for lying.. :)

There are 2 slang phrases here:
'even money says' is a betting term - the odds are even, so the result will be close and could go either way.
'he's real' - he's telling the truth.
Put the 2 together - he could be telling the truth.
