What kind of language do you want to learn?

In almost every language there are the language of ancient classics, the language of official documents, the language used in letter writing, there are the spoken language and there are also dialects. It is not that true?
Do you have any particular idea to share with us about that?

Joao, I'm not sure the previous responses completely answered your question. My own preference is to learn conversational Russian. While there are certainly some good classical works in that language, it is not how people speak to each other on a daily basis. My primary interest is in doing just that - communicating with ordinary people. I hope this helps.

I'd like to learn informal Italian, but I guess I'd have to live in Italy to master it.

Sincerely, I have interest to learn Aramaic, language spoken by Jesus Christ.
And Tupi and Guarani because the Brazilians don't know the origins of your culture. Today the culture of the Indians are forgotten.

I want to refresh myself with basic Spanish and some Italians. We were taught some Spanish during my college days but my brain is now rusted with that. I love Italians because of its accent, which is something like romantic.
