The national anthem of your country What does it mean to you?

A lot, even though some other Dutch people might find the text hard to understand. The Dutch anthem is the oldest in the world, so the Dutch used is quite old and some find it inappropriate. They forget that it reflects our history. Our difficult times with the Spanish oppressors, staying faithful to our country even if this means death, trust in God and his help to defeat the tyrants who hurt our hearts.
