What do you think is the biggest difference between German and Englich

German and English are quite in common. But after I've learnt German for a period of time, I find they also have differences in many aspects. What do you think is the biggest difference between these two languages.

In German there are cases, declinations (=> different endings) and so many articles!!! In a sense English is easier.

Hyperbatic word order, it might be the most difficult part for foreign learners, I found it much harder than cases, genders, and endings, and also, English vocabularies seem much closer to French & Spanish than German.

hospital (English)
hopital (French)
hospital (Spanish)
ospetale (Italian)

but: Krankenhaus (German), very different from English, there're still a lot of examples like this case.

In German, there nouns have several genders - masculine, feminine, neutral and plural. Although plural is not exactly a gender, it is distinct from the three others. The articles and noun determiners undergo declination. The verbs are conjugated. The word order is different in German and there are many ways of forming sentences.

However, it's also worth noting, with a few exceptions, German has consistant vowel sounds, whereas English they can be vastly different, u for example can be long and rounded, long and, or short and flat. In this respect speaking German is possibly a little easier that in English.
