To become?

In spanish, there is not really a verb for 'to become', right?
So how would you say 'To become rich', 'to become sick', ... ?

In Spanish "to become" can be translated as "volverse" depending on the context.
To become rich: volverse rico.
To become sick: enfermar (se).

'to become reach' would be "hacerse rico"
'to become sick' would be "enfermarse"(i am not sure about this last one...)
it changes most of the time, now that i think about it -

to become sick = enfermarse but better to get sick

En general llegar a ser o llegar a estar.
En España: Hacerse rico (llegar a ser rico suena raro)
Enfermar, ponerse enfermo, ponerse malo (llegar a estar enfermo no se dice)
