the Guarani is a language of the family Tupi-Guarani, spoken for approximately four million people (about two million of which is mother tongue) in Paraguay (where it is official language), northeastern Argentina, southern Brazil and the Bolivian Chaco. It is the native tongue of Guarani, an indigenous people of the area, but enjoys extensive use even beyond ethnicity. In the precolonial americas was used regularly by people who lived east of the Andes, from the Caribbean Sea to the River Plate.
