How not to be lazy?

As a student, I sometime appear to be rather lazy. =P I feel guilty to be lazy. I don't afford to be lazy. Finally examination is really important for me. If I do badly, I cannot get into the University. Guys, help me out please!!

Rabbits need carrots to run for. Human will need motivation. Look for something you look forward to in study so that you can work towards. Tell yourself, for eg. if you achieve this result, you will buy yourself... a hand bag? If you get into university, you will go for a short tour to a place you like. But you have to achieve 2 things, one your study so that you can reward yourself, two is to save money to reward yourself.

Bill is right, or you can use a visualisation technique athletes use, visualise yourself studying, passing your exam being successful. Or do you want to be a miserable failure? It's up to you how you see yourself.

hmmm... in my own opinion, there are two kinds of laziness. one is that you are lazy doing a thing because you don't have enough strength to do it, second is that you are lazy doing a thing because you actually don't like to do it!

I think in the former case, the solution would be having a healthy mind and body - energize yourself (exercise and having a good sleep). As the saying goes, "what your mind can conceive, your body can achieve!". It's very hard to concentrate on a class when you lack of sleep, isn't it?

the latter case would have been solved if you start looking yourself into the future. it's like this, "Begin with an end in mind" meaning you are visualizing yourself what you will become or what benefit you will get for doing such thing.

on top of these things, the best part is to make these good suggestions a daily habit and you will succeed in trashing out laziness. (pls. refer to Dr, Covey's "7 basic habits")..

good day to you my friend!

Well, I would recomend you to read the book of Tom Hodgkinson, "How to be Idle". In this book he writes and I strongly agree with:
"The idea that idleness is good against everything we have tought. (...) Well, no. In the West we have become addicted to work. Americans now work the longest hours in the world. And the result is nor healt, wealth and wisdon, but rather a lot of ansiety, a lot of ill health and a lot of debt."
So, take it easy. Don't worry so much.
Maybe you are just too tired and your body and mind are reminding you that you are not a machine made of iron but only a human being made of flesh an bone.
After being lasy for some time, properly rested, you will achieve your goals.
Good luck in your admission exams.
