hi! can anybody tell me what the most popular cellphone brand is in Spain? or anything about using a cellphone in Spain. Im from New Zealand and am going to live in Madrid for about 9 months and would probably need a cellphone over there.. do they use vodafone? do they use t-mobile sidekicks? any information would be useful as I have no idea!

Main mobile brands in spain are Vodafone, Orange and Movistar there are other brands like Yoigo, Euskaltel... but are just the others.

The three biggest telephone companies are Movistar(Telefonica), Vodafone and Orange. Apart from that there are lots of other smaller companies but if you have Vodafone I suppose there would be no problem, but you should better ask in some vodafone retailer.
As for the sidekicks I have never seen them anywhere here in spain I suppose because T-mobile doesn't operate here.
