Why did Korean abandon Hanja despite the fact that Hanja is a useful character?

Hanja=漢字(pronunciation: 한자)

【韓漢混用文】

Ouch, I misclicked. You would admit Hanja isn't easy to write/memorize anyway. Hanja had been used between upper-class people. The lower class had never had any choice to learn it before King Sejong created Han-geul. You can find many historic facts many rulers preferred their subjects remain illiterate, because it's more advanageous for them to rule. The simple and fundamental reason is that Han-geul is the Korean alphabet created by King Sejong who is Korean.

Because Han-geul is much easier to write/memorize than Hanja. The illiterate rate of Korea is near zero. King Sejong'd had a different opinion, he thought his subjects should be not illiterate. and had created Han-geul which is efficient and simple. You would admit Hanja(Traditional Chinese characters, not simplified one) isn'tthemselves clearly, he thought unlike many rulers in history who preferred their subjects remain
