Pls, anyone explain me the pun 本大爺 and 本山人?

The character in taiwanese series is called 元大鷹, however he calls himself as 本大爺, and explains something about his background in the mountain areas, saying that 本大爺 is 本山人.
I am totally confused, what does it all mean?

Hi, Lisa:
I know it's the drama of 籃球火。本大爺 means I'm the one beyond you. And 本山人 is used to in the Kufung film, it means the guy has some kind of Kufung.

I think "本山人" could be used in China, because I don't know what that mean. We've never used that word in Taiwan.
