Which language is more difficult? Cantonese or Mandarin?

I want to hear your opinions which language is more difficult to speak? Chinese Cantonese or Chinese Mandarin? I can only speak the cantonese language and a few sentences of mandarin. When I compare the both languages I think cantonese is more difficult.

Yes, Cantonese is much harder to learn than Mandarin, it has about 7 tones, while Mandarin has only 5(4+1).
And Cantonese has much more elements or components of Classical Chinese (Ancient Chinese) than Mandarin.

I agree with this friend upstairs. As what I have known. There are 8 tones in Cantonese.

But, Mate.It depends on you. Which one you are interested more??

My suggestion is to learn Mandarin. You know almost all the people in China knows Mandarin Rather than Cantonese.

Yea as a university course, Cantonese taught in year 3! Im learning it next year, they have the stardard number of tones but doubled up since if you hold the tones for long it makes new tones. I went in one class and the teacher was like... ma ma ma ma ma ma..... Was quite scary haha. Im learning Cantonese this year and looking forward to it though, it sounds cool at least.

Objectively, I don't think Cantonese sounds better than Mandarin, & it should be the other way around.
