Lemme think...Your name, Terje derives from Torgeir.

Tor, also spelled as Thor, means the god of thunder in Nord mythlogy
So the family name is cofirmed, 雷(lei), which is a common family name in China.

And "geir" comes from "Geirar", a spear in the Nord mythlogy.
So the given name is 戭(yan, the third tone), mean "spear", it's an ancient Chinese character.

So after all. Your Chinese name is 雷戭 (Yan LEI) :) ahahahaha

do you want to have a Chinese name after your name sound,or just a new ,sound like native Chinese?
Chinese name after:the symbol of fiowers, dragon ,tiger, birds, hero, and so on ,to express good wish,moral,expect...
if you name after yours,i think both Betty and Xyza’s are ok
if the second, you should tell which one (symbol)you prefer,or which alphabet you want your name start from, and
do you like 2words or 3words or 4

Actually, I think the answer from Xyza is more accurate. I know the letter "j" in Norsk pronounces like "y" in English. But I prefer the first one from Betty, because it used some characters which have good meanings.
"特", te, means special, unique
"瑞", rui, means good luck, lucky
"杰", jie, means outstanding, terrific, remarkable

if you want to have a real Chinese-style name, I think you need to reconsider it. Because the answers above are just translations. Even Betty's, no Chinese use that kind of name. But really good.

Umm... your name is Terje..so I think you can get "陶 杰"(Pronunciation: tao jie )as your chinese name!
it's sounds like your ture name.
陶 in chinese means pottery, also it was a family name in China.
杰 in chinese means outstanding, preeminence.many chinese boy like use this word as their name.
