Undecided questions

do the Asian population have more wisdom. than... (Europe, america...)?

In my eyes, i see Asian population like a wise population.
Gifted with knowledge, understanding and experience.
dont look like they want to conquer any thing at the moment.
i know anout the war and
"In the ancient time,China were the most powerful country so people in China think they should be the center of the world China=中国 中=middle 国=country"
so it aint the war i am thinking of it and about who is bigest or not.
it is about how people se thing's, how thing's are build upp.
not just a subjekt (I am good at brake thing apart to se who it works *then never get it back to work*)
If there are one thing I want then it would be Wisdom.
The knowledge and experience to do the right thing, at the right time.
The understanding of how thing's are build upp.
and from all that you need to know sosial intelligence and how to behave?

I can do that i think. just need to raise my smile, or atleast it is a good start.

The asker has not select the best answer.
It seems to me that every nation has a unique wisdom, is not limited to a particular nation, in fact, in the face of an alien, and we are all stupid.

Just like everyone has his own way of life, every nation has her culture. There is no standard criterion to judge which nation has more wisdom. Anyway, one should not consider this issue in a unilateral way.

I think this is an interesting question that should not be simply dismissed as culturally biased. We can certainly talk about one person being WISER than another (why else would the word 'wise' have a compartive form?), as in 'Socrates is wiser than Anaxaogoras', or 'My grandmother is wiser than I.'

If it is legitimate to compare individuals in terms of wisdom, it is certainly legitimate to ask the question 'Is one culture wiser than another?' However, you do have to be clear and careful about what your standards of judging wisdom are. The trap here is that many people will define 'being wise' in terms of just those qualities that they think one nation has and another does not, thereby presuming the answer they are looking for.

What could count as objective standards of wisdom? That is an interesting question, and one philosophers have long fought over. Socrates and Aristotle might have said something like this:

'Being wise is knowing that you don't know everything.'
Being wise is steering a middle course between two extremes.'

I would suggest that 1 and 2 are more characteristic of Asian cultures than Western ones, not least because they are principles fundamental to Buddhism. Interestingly, though, Socrates and Aristotle were both Western philosoophers. has the West forgotten the teaching of its own ancestors? I would argue there is a strong case for answering that question as 'yes', and I would also make the further suggestion (though perhaps I may be falling into the 'bias' trap here...:) ), that 'Remembering the teachings of your ancestors' = 'learning the lessons of the past' is also a good criterion of what it means to be wise.

very interesting question,
i think it hard to say who is more wisdom.
but i have some points:
First:CHIINA not even ancient or today, don‘t want to fight,or control.SHIHUANG emperor
end the the WARring States(475-221BC),united China, enter the fedual soceity ,which developed themselves on many factors.

however,the1840.6--1842.8 the UK started and won the Opium Addict War shaked China.
1842.8.29 CHina and UK signed the Treaty of Nanjing (Nanking),include 13article:
cedes to Her Majesty the Queen of Great Britain, the Island of Hongkong
pay the sum of 21Millions of Dollars in all
Twelve Millions of Dollars on account of the Expenses
Six Millions of Opium
Three Millions on acoount ;five ports be opened, ect.
1896,theUS,declared an Open Door policy for trading China, saw huge intere from weak CHINA,during the 19thcenty,many foreign countries carced out piece of China.
from then on China suffered the fight with outside and inside for a century.
1949.10.01 China was liberated.Today‘s China is from then on.

China is more care of their own development than others,
just like some family lived happily by their hands and brain,welcome peace harmonious envrionment ;
some lived by watching and stealing or robbing ect.
the similar as come here to study and improve together, you are friendly and polit to someone ,
but some reply with quarrel ,complain or hurt ,
we simply say they’re good or evil, right or wrong,
can not say who is more wisdom.

hehe a nice question. it reminds me of an old subject that i listened to some professor's lecture long time ago-Difference between Chinese and the Foreigners in Thinking. a lot of chinese ppl say that foreigners think in a very direct way-if not too direct hehe, and if this is used to evaluate an asian its another way of saying he is lack of wisdom in terms of what kinda culture we received. From the Ancient Greece to the modern times, the systematic and organic factors existed in the western thinking, but the linear thinking mode had been occupying a dominant position. but chinese ppl think firstly from the whole trying to get me and others together other than being so UNIQUE, its wise that u can completely join something and adopt yourself into the environment -the essential of Ying Ching is being in a harmony with everything existed on the planet earth-you can read some the wisdom of change and taoism materials if u are interested. but to my own understanding ,western is deeply affected by dualism-they consentrate on independence, chanllenge, opposing.
i agree that its a wiser way between these two coz linear thinking is good way in terms of science and nonlinear thinking way is better for literature and arts.

Indeed i believe many asian cultures have a bigger inheritance regarding wisdom but even more, a much wider adoption of its essence.

A famous author who's longing for wisdom made his name a synonym to it is the ancient-jewish king Salomon. I suggest you read His books 'Proverbs', 'Wisdom of Solomon', 'Ecclesiastes' , as well as 'Sirah's wisdom' or 'Sirach'. There's no point of reading such books in only a couple of days, instead i suggest you study them within a period of several years.
Study them carefully, sober, and try to match the application of their meaning in your everyday life.
In time, 'wisdom' will appear as a less vague and obscure entity to you.

Plus you may have a look or post your thoughts here:

"The knowledge of the wise spreads in the manner of a cataclysm"

So beautiful !

Simply saying
Asian people, especially from Japan, China, Korea and some Southeast Asian Countries.
People are clever. That's no doubt.

But compare to the people in western world.
They lack of teamwork and believe in each other. So you see, people in western world often win projects/competitions needs teamwork.

People from different parts of the world have different sorts of wisdom, which is unsble to be compared.
But wisdom is a pattern of choosing the way to live. Asians are a bit more hardworking and less romantic and have a different understanding of morality. Thats all what the Asian wisdom is abt.
