English people rarely use animal names as their names (if ever) - If you want an English name, best bet is to have a look at websites for baby names, and pick one from there!

Most popular girls names are; Grace, Ruby, Olivia, Emily, Jessica, Sophie, Chloe, Lily, Ella and Amelia apparently ;)

I agree with James, I've seen too many Chinese who pick weird English names... I've seen stuff like: Flower, Happy, Smile, Sunny, Frog, Dollar, Smacker, Dolphin, Pig-Pig, Lemon, Banana, Itchy, etc. etc.

Swallow definitely would be in the list of weird names, and you also have to remember that "swallow" can indicate the act of swallowing as well. I don't think you want people to make sexually offensive jokes about "whether you swallow or not".

Like these two fine gentlemen stated, English-speaking people rarely give their children animal names, but since your name translates to "swallow," perhaps you'd like to stick with the bird theme when choosing your english name. Robin (or Robyn, which is a more feminine version) is both a bird name and a "people name." ;)
