In many societies, men are brought up to be the tough and the fearless. Therefore a man crying is considered a show of weakness. It is more unacceptable to other men for a man to cry than to women. Women find it really touching when a man cries. We feel deeply for them in these times, because we know whatever it is they are crying about has gone beyond their social grooming. But we do not despise it, as is believed. When a man cries in our presence, we recognise the humanness in them. And this humanness is soft and lovable. The hard-rock-never-crying-never-defeatable man is unfeeling and unreal. The crying one is human, accepting that sometimes things go beyond his capability. But....don't cry too much, Fares.
