It is use for public park and promenade in Madrid, 1645, from Spain, from Latin pratum "meadow" (see prairie).

The word itself "prado" is a spanish word as Fede mentioned that means :
"meadow" , " a field or any green grassy area in general" or "pasture".

Many places and things are named thereafter such the above mentioned beside others like the LandCruiser Prado Vehicle , a person's name etc...
