I think the translation is:
hi = olá
how are you? = como vai você?
ciao! =)

If you really mean Portugal, and not just Portuguese, then probably "você" would sound strange, maybe even offensive.

So, I suppose these would fit better:
"Olá, tudo bem?"
"Olá, como estás?"
"Olá, como vais?"
etc.

Hey, since I've lived in Portugal for a while I think I can help you with this one.
When in Portugal, you only use: VOCE( YOU) when you are from the family, or related to someone someway somehow. It's very intimate, so don't use VOCE a lot in Portugal, because they will feel like, you think you are close enough to them to use directly this expression. The best substitution for that is: TU.
Como tu estas?
Como vais?
Don't forget that the final ''s'' is almost like a ''sh'' sound in english, very diferent from Brazil.
I hope I helped you on that ;)
thanks and see ya!
