These courses are 6 or 11 sessions in length (1 preview lesson followed by a 5 or 10 session package) and are for upper intermediate and advanced students. They focus on a specific topic which can be explored in-depth. I have a few courses that I have already created and are ready. Additionally, if you have a specific interest that you would like to learn about in-depth, feel free to write me and propose an idea. Perhaps I can create a new course just for you!
These courses normally involve a large commitment outside of the course, as you will need to watch, read, and listen to a large amount of material. At the end of the course you will have an in-depth understanding of a specific topic and be able to have deep conversations about it.
LEARNING ENGLISH THROUGH LAUGHING- In this course, we will explore humor in the English language. Humor is one of the most difficult things to learn in a foreign language, and I will guide you through this process. We will take a look at stand-up comedy, television shows, movies, advertisements, satirical books and articles, and much more as we laugh our way through the English language.
AMERICAN HISTORY- In this course, we will delve into many different issues that were present in the United States over the last 500 years. This will be presented in a context that helps explain why the United States in 2015 is the way it is. This is for students of any level who would like to learn about the history and culture of the US, while at the same time improving their conversation skills. If desired, this can also be a great way for a student to improve their writing skills by writing homework assignments about the various topics that are discussed.
