Maltese as an official language

Did you know that until 1930 Italian was the official language of Malta?

It was in 1934 when Maltese became an official language of Malta, alongside English.

In 1964 Maltese became the national language of Malta.

In 2004, when Malta became part of the EU, Maltese became one of 24 official languages of the EU.

Malta has a bilingual status because both Maltese and English are official languages.
