Japanese on my keyboard (on my computer)

Hi. Sorry for the technical question, but I've run into a problem. I've downloaded the Windows Japanese language pack thingy, but when I try to write it just comes out wrong; like so:
Konnichiwa -  のらみみにそくにてち
which is obviously totally wrong. I want the normal one, so that if I want to write the character "の" , I type "n" then "o" on my keyboard.

Again, sorry for the technical question, I'm just really bad with technology. Sumimasen deshita.

Thanks in advance for any contribution.

Your settings must be "Kana Input" at the moment and you need to change it to "Romaji Input".

① Go to "Control Panel".

②  Select "Region and language".

③  Select "Keyboard and language" tab.

④  Click "Keyboard change".

⑤  Select "・ Microsoft IME".

⑥ Click "property".

⑦ Select "Romaji Input".  ⇒ I believe the current setting is "Kana Input".

N.B. My computer displays in Japanese and the words may not be exact.

Good luck!!

I think google's japanese keyboard is better.

https://www.google.com/ime/

with googles ime you can easily switch between english and japanese input with (ctrl + `).

when in hiragana mode you type romaji style and it generates the hiragana and kanji dictionary style.

It basically works exactly the same as google translates japanese input.

Or you can paint the kana on your keyboard's keys and use the IME as it is! =D

hai! You mai need this. ttps://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/bc/KB_Japanese.svg/2000px-KB_Japanese.svg.png

You may have to tweak around the language bar buttons.

I always have to press KANA, type something, press KANA again and then it works.

If I try to activate hiragana from the start, it doesn't do anything.

Hope this helps.
