Ask a Native Speaker < ask john >

My name is John Warnken I am a native speaker who lives in middle America near Memphis Tennessee.  I have been  tutoring  English using Skype for 3 years.  I have been italki member almost 3 years.  I am also a teacher of computers and internet technology.  I will try to help you understand English from the perspective of the native speaker.

I am very busy but will try to answer questions for you.  I also have website called   itutorforyou  I tutor for you  itutorforyou.com  where I have english lessons. 

The most difficult part of learning English is the spoken part.  Conversational English is not the same as written  English.   So take your time and be patient.  It will take time and practice to learn.  Do not be afraid to make a mistake just try until you succeed.

Dear Mr. Warnken;

Before I ask some questions to you, first, I would like to acquaint myseft . My name is Hery and I just graduated from one of Universities in Yogyakarta several months ago, and right now  I am working as a DND(Dot net Developer) and an IT support in cell phones distributor in Jakarta . I have been joining italki since Ocotober 17th 2008.  In this case, I have a big curiosity to learn more about English, that's why I dont hesitate to join into any chat room or site for learning English and express myself and any part of conversation with my own style.

I got this message from a friend of mine whose name is Ms.Help.  After I read your text, I have some questions, they are :
1. The English tutor that you offer is for free or charged? ( The tutor through skype)
2. What day and time do you always open your class? (The tutor through skype)
3. Are you living in Jakarta? if You are, do you offer an english course there?

Thanks for your questions.  I am currently working with a group of High School Students in Pekalongan I work with the teacher there Endang Palupi. Her husband also runs the government IT lab there.   She is a member of Italki as well.   I am tutoring her whole High School English class in conversational English.  I do this all with Skype I live in the USA near to Memphis Tennessee.  Please take some time to read my story on the Oprah Angel Network.

Oh I got it, Mr.John Warnken. I thought that you were livin' in Indonesia.
