We've been receiving some complaints from teachers about student no shows, particularly for free trial sessions.  What we have found on italki that on an overall basis, the no show rate for free lessons is 6-8 times what it is for trials sessions that charge a small fee.  Even if that amount is very low, for example 1 ITC, the no show rate drops significantly.  We recommend that as a teacher, if you want to offer trials lessons, that you have a price of at least 1 ITC to reduce the chances you will have a student no show.
