девочка versus девочке
What is the difference between девочка and девочке?
They both translate as "girl".

the difference is in the case. The hardest part in Russian I think! :) Some example:
- The girl is walking along the road.
- I gave the doll TO the girl.
I speak aout the girl.
The difference is in cases:
девочка - it's nominative case: This girl (She) is very pretty.
девочке - it's dative case of "girl": Give the girl (her) a book.
Nice and clear, thank you.
