I am starting to use the standby system to manage my lessons which organizes and administers to a backup student ready in the wings in case the scheduled student does not attend the lesson. I have set the official clock to five minutes waiting then the Professr avails the standby student in the absent student's stead. Be there or be square and for this Professor most of my students are in BRICS.
Brazil, Russia, India, China and S. Africa where most of my students are with KSA also strong and I can only teach so many students in any one time zone at any one time; sorry but I can't be in two places at the same time and yet maybe now with moden Internet magic I can be with my students in real and not reel time. The problem is becoming that I have more students than I have time in the BRICS time zones. It's becoming a bottleneck. I have sent out feelers to other teachers on italki but have not found any way help the children in China and Asia with their Engish.
My time has become valuable to the point I have backup students waiting and hoping the scheduled lesson fell through for any reason. I have not missed any lessons but for the Internet connection failures and the same at the other end where the student has trouble for whatever reason. I live in Santa Monica, California but I am living on Chinese time... wasn't that a song by Willie Nelson? Ha ha!
On January first I increased the price for a lesson without preamble or notice and was met with a new student who took a trial lesson which he liked but said the lessons would be a little expensive and never bought a lesson even though he knew he could share the lesson; there is always one but that was the only one I had and everybody stepped up to pay fast. It's amazing how the money comes. Did you read my posting about the moeny?
I am beginning to us my book "keys to words" to teach the children to. They love it. I need help. I have too many children for me to manage. Are there any teachers here who are interested in helping these children?
