Group lessons

italki does not support such and does not respond to me when I ask about it.  A couple of years ago I asked and have been waiting ever since; gleaning from my Chinese students, it's tops to have private lessons and it's obvious italki is not interested in supporting group lessons.  I am interested because I must be; I have too many students and I can't handle them all.  Now what?  Decline new session requests?  Or what?

I started the V.I.P. class... twice as expensive but you get to bump the student who previously scheduled a regular lesson for the time you want.  Yeah, it's Ebay come to italki.  Time will tell if I succeed in this.  My main focus is "keys to words".  I am trying to teach it on a group basis.

I have gone to wiziq several times.  Their virtual classroom sucks, I prefer Webex but neither is free.  I am pushing "keys to words" so I am pushing on the envelope of teaching on the Internet. Regarding the Internet as a tool for teaching language now.  It's in it's infancy.  Skype is the best in town and it is pretty sucky.  The sound quality has serious problems at times making it impossible for me to give proper corrections to students and it often crashes, it's expensive and yet it's wonderful; I have amazing people who pay me money to hang out with them and correct their English... it's a dream come true most of the time and a nightmare a little of the time.

So what about group lessons here on italki ?

Online teaching is a wonderful tool and yes, still in its infancy.  I agree about group lessons - on wiziq the sound is terrible, and Skype, as you say, is unreliable.  I hope that one day the technology will catch up!  What do you mean by "keys to words"?  It sounds interesting.

Yes, I had trouble with the virtual classroom on Wiziq.  Webex is good but it's expensive.
