when people are in a silent environment

they may even feel the falling down of osmanthus blossoms

and when the night gets deeper

green hills are totally a blur

the birds which were started by the movement of the rising moon

are making sounds from time to time

别扭，很别扭，这哪有诗意啊。。。大家不要见笑

With no stir of man gently falls osmanthus,
And night fills the spring mount with emptiness.
Unveiled moon startles the valley birds,
whistling, leaving naught but echo of silence.

唉。。。必然要悲剧的。。。过子时该睡了就这样吧。。。

时鸣春涧中。An occasional cawing... Heard in the stream between two mountains.

No one hears the falling of the osmanthus blossoms,

Quiet is the spring night of mountains in emptiness.

Birds startled by the light of the rising moon,

But an occasional cawing heard by the mountain stream.

針對 Jeff 相當不錯的英譯. 我提出一點意見. 一個具有閒情逸緻的人在春天夜晚觀花落. 聽鳥鳴...

但是Jeff 的闡釋是前二句靜態. 後二句動態. 作為對比. 也有可取.

Thanks.  Wang Wei's poem is great because in a crux, he uses actions (which makes noise and sounds; real or percieved) to describe silence!

Unless one uses modern electronic equipment, how can one able to hear the sound of falling flowers or the rising moon?  This is perceived sounds of the mind.  Then comes the real sounds created by the cawing of birds and streams.  All these are then offset by the emptiness and loneliness of the scene filled figuratively with sounds and light.

Jerry 有不錯的句子. 不過. 沒有點出 "春". 此外. 靜的不只是 environment 更是 mood. 要不要再試一次呢! Jeff 的詮釋道出了詩意. 兩位都很厲害...
