Some Rules, Some Formats...
As we all know, Italki does not do a great job in organizing threads of communication for their groups. It uses a "flat model". They do not use a hierarchical structure. Hence it is becomes very confusing after a while.
This is what I propose. I am sure everyone in the group can post a new topic. So if you have a new poem or something else to talk about, post it as new topic instead. If this is a spinoff from some thread, you can include in the original thread a message to let others know that this is going to be a spin off.
Also, when you post a poem other than in English, please add the English equivalent or your intepretation as a side by side reference. This is easy for others to see and comment on the finer points of the translation. I agree this this takes more work but the best way to learn and see the corrections side by side. In the end, you save much time and grief.
Most of you by now know that all my corrections are done in various colors and fonts so that the reader has an easier time. This is a reflection from my work. Readability, after correctness, is the most important thing when I write my computer programs. I take pride in the pleasing visual look of my program code.
Finally, even though I am the creator/moderator of this group, I am no star but one of you. So please feel free post your opinions as new topics or start writing new posts. Also, by posting your creations here, you have freed yourself from Italki's daily restriction of have only three topics can be written. Only time will tell if this assumption is true.
Anyway, this group is created for all of us to have a good time. So use it :)
