A kiss means I love you. To be in love means to be vulnerable. Vulnerability means ruin.

If ruin of mind is ruin of life, then a kiss may ruin our life, in the circumstance where you already love someone and they reciprocated, and someone else kisses you,  where you decided how you would decide your spouse would be in future and someone kisses you now....Well, there are many situations like that. But not in these siuations: 1) If you want to love only one in your life, and your parents won't object even if you love anyone, and someone kisses you.

2)After marriage. Some convenient situations like these. :

This quote gets even more interesting if you know that Oscar Wilde was one of the only openly homosexual writers in the Victorian Era.

In fact, he was sentenced to 2 years of hard labor and imprisonment for his sexuality, which was still illegal in England at the time. 

So, for Oscar Wilde, a kiss really did ruin his life.

However, I think a kiss can ruin our lives, no matter what our sexual orientation is :)
