Yes, his is a very good translation.  He understood most of the terms used in the song.  This is a famous song sung by Marilyn Monroe which later was used by Madonna and dressed in the say way in the video.

But get that ice or else no dice. 

Your translation is 石頭不到手, 身不放 (献 etc). It reminds me of a Chinese saying :不见兔子不撒鹰, which fit the context as well.

As I see it, this line implied that there was a clear huge gap between this woman and the man she was having an affair with in terms of financial and social status, fame etc. if such a "little" woman met a "big" man, she would pale into completely utter insignificance compared to this man.  

I can see that she felt a sense of insecurity and the only thing that would comfort her was that her body was still attractive to men. This woman might think to herself :"Don't ask for more from this "big" guy, such as marriage or commitment that this guy can't give" . The only thing they could do was keeping the affair liaisonic, otherwise they would all suffer the consequences of his poor choices. No other choice but to maintain the status quo.

I believe the line implies that she is better off keeping all her other liaisons.  Don't just depend on one just one man who just give her sweet nothings.  The bread will last you a day or two while diamonds will last forever.

Both are good translation and I have to hit the book for a hundred years to approach.
