What do you think Swedish sounds like?

I have always wondered what people think about Swedish, how does it sound? Some people say it sounds like German, Russian.... What do you think? :)

It resembles German i think!

Sounds complicated hehe I'm not able to understand even one word. Well, before I found Swedish similar to German. After listening to the song I have to say that it's not similar at all :)

I agree with you,

Germanic language (German, Dutch etc.) + Slavic language (Russian, Slovakian etc.)

I think it sounds like a mixture of English and German. But it has nothing familiar to Russian i should say.

Well of course, you speak Russian, so you don't think it sounds like Russian ;) Also I shouldn't say that Swedish sounds like Russian but we have actually almost 100 word in common! Like lampa- лампа, stol- стул or instinkt- инстинкт. Pronounced the same way ;)

I personally really like Swedish. It sounds really smooth and musical to my ears. Doesn't really sound German, with the stresses in the sentence, more Dutch like (without the rough pronounciations) xD

Wow, i didn't actually know about it. So may be you're right and it sound very close to Russian) Nevertheless it is very hard for me  to judge)

Oh, I absolutely love it!!!! The sounds, the singing intonation and all.

Some years ago I visited Stokcholm. The Swedish language? It doesn't sound like Russian.

Well, almost every foreign language sounds unfamiliar and weird to other nations, it all depends on where you actually come from. In my case - the more I listen to swedish, the more I get used to it, gradually of course :)
