The present tense:

There are 3 groups of verbs. The most numerous one is verbs ending with ARE

the verb AMARE - to love (the stem is "am")

Io amo - I love

Tu ami - You love

Lui ama - He loves

Lei ama - She loves

Lei ama - You love

Noi amiamo - We love

Voi amate - You love

Loro amano - They love

Now conjugate the same way other verbs:

parlare - to talk

mangiare - to eat

guardare - to look

giocare (g is read as J on John) - to play

lavorare - to work

acsoltare - to listen

imparare - to learn

abitare - to live (in a place)

Negative is formed by adding NON before the verb:

Io non amo - I dont love

Tu non guardi - You dont look

Lui non parla - He doesnt speak

Lei non lavora - She doesn't work

Noi non impariamo - We don't learn

Voi non giocate - You don't play

Loro non abitano - They don't live 

Conjugate the verbs above in negative form

Translate into Italian the following:

 

They don't love

She doesn't work, she plays

We dont speak

He doesnt learn

I don't eat

Question is formed by raising tone of the sentense.
