Why is Kanji used and not Hiragana?

Hirigana to me seems as though it could be used almost anywhere, so why is it that we see mostly kanji everywhere? Thanks for helpful answers

To begin with, lately I see kana used much more frequently than kanji, almost everywhere. Main reason why kanji is (should be) used is because of some kind of status. If you use kana only, most people will think that you are just illiterate. Besides, kanji usage gives you many possibilities, e.g. different puns, wordplays etc.

its my opinion, hiragana only shows a sound. otherwise, kanji shows not only sounds, but also includes a meaning and a image. this difference is limited in one capital. but kanji combination makes the meaning deeper and/or more clear. if hiragana combination is "1+1", kanji combination is 2*2. so a sentence including kanji can be red and understood than a sentence made by all hiragana.
