Progrss will bring us back to monkeys?
In Russia we have two well-known statements. 1. It was work that done Human from a monkey and 2. laziness is the engine of progress. May be one of these statements is wrong?

About the second statement: in America we sometimes say "Idle hands are the devil's playthings," so I agree with the first statement - work makes a man worthwhile.
Minor correction:
It was work that done changed humans (Human should be plural here - the singular form implies that you are speaking about one individual human) about from a monkeys
("About" is not necessary because you have written from, and two prepositions should not be written side-by-side.)
