Is there anyone can tell me about the word ''vase''?
I head that it's [vɑːz] in English,and it's [veɪs] in American English.Is it ture?
Don't you say [vɑːz] in America English? Or both is ok?
Yes, different people in America say it in different ways! I think richer people say vas and everyone else says veis.
This is something that we debate even in America! But the common American will say it "veis" as you have written out.
/vɑːz/ is how I pronounce 'vase'.
