For Mandarin Chinese the 6 levels (A1 to C2) correspond to New HSK 1-6. The number of vocabulary is 150, 300, 600, 1200, 2500 and 5000.
At the bottom of this pdf [ http://www.confuciusinstitute.qut.edu.au/docs/hks_2010_level_1.pdf ] the 150 words are listed as well as the grammar needed.
All the levels are here [ http://www.confuciusinstitute.qut.edu.au/study/proficiency.jsp ], although there's only grammar for the lower levels.
I am interested in the equivalent for other languages. I understand that there's probably more than one exam board but would be interested to see what stuff would reach what level, in particular A1.
