Help !! I need a translation of japanese !!!!

Hello. I'm David and I need a translation of a Tenugui, it's in japanese, I need this because will be a Gift to a Kendo friend.

Hm... I think it's a poem about Kendo, the Japanese sword sport. I can't really translate it word for word but it says something about the sword and heart are one that one cannot achieve proper swordsmanship when his heart is disturbed. One must search his himself first before aspiring to be a swordsman. :)

Anyhow I tried to google it, it's a meditation poem for Kendo practitioners by Toranosuke Shimada (1814–1852). ;)
