Group 1: (known as "ngeli") in Swahili
A- WA
To this group we have words whose singular forms take an "a-" as the indicator. Their corresponding plurals MUST always take "wa-" as their indicators.
This group has in it all nouns indicating people, occupations, and also all live animals/insects/fish, etc.
Examples of such nouns include:
singular nouns: mtu- person, mnyama- animal, mdudu- insect
plurals: watu- people, wanyama- animals, wadudu- insects
mtu anakula (singular for: a person is eating)- watu wanakula (plural: people are eating)
mnyama mkubwa (singular for: a big animal)- wanyama wakubwa (plural: big animals)
