Referring to the plastic arts we have more important painters and sculpture as well. But for the painting the most importantis NICOLAE GRIGORESCU  (1838-1907) because he was one of the first founders of modern Romanian painting. He attended the Barbizon scholl because he was attracted by its artistic concepts where he became colleague with artist like Milet, Corot, Courbet, Rousseau. He was followed by other Romanian artists like Ion Andreescu  , Stefan Luchian .... He became a symbol for young generation of the artist. 

For the sculpture we have the great artist CONSTANTIN BRÂNCUŞI  (1876-1957). He is the great sculptor of the twentieth century , one of the most important artist of the  world, he led the way for modernist artists.  He is renowned as being the parent of the modern sculpture. His works blend simplicity and sophistication which show to the looker the essence of the things.
